WEP celebrated 10 years of women’s education in India this past Thursday at the annual silent auction & champagne tasting event, Raise Your Glass, Raise Her Spirits 2012. Thank you to all who attended & made this evening such a success! Especially Radhika Vaz of Unladylike and Brock Savage for the auction and performance, Seema Pandya and Varuni Tiruchelram for the tabla and cello performance, Katarina Kojic for the photographs, and all our wonderful guests! 

CoL Members celebrated Mango Madness @ Pera SoHo for our 2nd Thursdays April Event! Thanks for everyone who was able to join and congrats to our newest members on spreading the light & helping women in India!

Our monthly Meet and Greet, held on the third Tuesday of every month, for board, advisers, and ambassadors to plan events and other fun WEP activities.

Six cyclists raised funds and awareness for WEP on a 25 mi cycle throughout the Bronx.

The Taalim School of Indian Music and WEP presented Pandit Divyang Vakil’s Tabla Ecstasy for a night of music and dance!

April 4th, 2010, Lift for Change, Facebook Lift for Change – a Facebook group in which members commit to making a positive change in their life for 21 days. On April 4th, WEP celebrated our members’ commitment to change!

March 8th, 2010, International Women’s Day with She Creates Change and Women’s Education Project!NY, NY International Women’s Day (March 8^th) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. She Creates Change and Women’s Education Project, two organizations that help women achieve their fullest potential, came together to celebrate women’s accomplishments on this special day.

It was a memorable evening of networking, motivational speeches, raffle prize gifts, and the inspiration to realize goals and dreams!

February 24th, 2010, Time for School Screening, Brooklyn, NY

A free screening of PBS’s “Time for School”, an unprecedented, award-winning 12-year documentary following seven children to their classrooms in Afghanistan, Benin, Brazil,India, Japan, Kenya, and Romania.

Producer Tamara Rosenburg was present for a Q + A.

The evening was sponsored by Women’s Education Project and by Film Sprout, a Brooklyn-based documentary distribution company that brings independent,social-issue films to grassroots audiences.
